This $325-million waterfront development was approved by the San Diego Port Commission in February 2007. A consortium that includes Hardage Hotels LLC, Lankford and Associates, Phelps Development Co. and C.W. Clark Inc. will work together on the project.

The Lane Field project will be a destination not only for tourists, but also for the residents of San Diego. The vibrant bay view project is split into north and south sections with two proposed towers. A $225-million south complex housing a 19-story, 525-room InterContinental hotel will be across from the San Diego cruise ship terminal. The adjacent $100-million north complex will have a 14-story, 275-room Aviana Suites hotel. Retail shops and restaurants will be located both inside and outside of the hotels, and more than 1,700 parking spaces will be provided.

Currently in the planning and design phase of the project. Construction to begin in Summer 2008 with a completion date in 2011.
